Following a Hajj season that welcomed more than 1.7 million pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah has completed its first Hajj season recording occupancy of more than 95% just months after opening in December 2025. With the new Umrah season now under way, the hotel is strengthening its year-round readiness for pilgrims through direct access to Al Masjid Al Haram, group support, multilingual service, and practical assistance throughout the guest journey
Located in the Jabal Omar district, the 655-room hotel is connected to Al Masjid Al Haram through a series of escalators and pathways designed to support smoother guest movement during prayer times and peak periods. The hotel also provides support for Miqat guidance, prayer timings, Ihram assistance, airport transfers, daily movement planning, group coordination, and guest communication in more than eight languages
This readiness supports Saudi Arabia’s wider ambition under Vision 2030 to increase capacity to welcome 30 million Umrah visitors every year by 2030
The update was shared during a media visit hosted at Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah, where media representatives experienced the hotel’s guest journey, room product, dining venues and services designed for Hajj and Umrah guests
Ayman Zaki, General Manager of Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah, said: “Our first Hajj season was an important milestone for Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah, but the bigger responsibility is what comes next. Makkah is moving into a year-round rhythm of pilgrimage, and hotels in this market must be ready beyond peak season. Our focus is to support that journey through reliable service, strong group handling, and a guest experience that respects the spiritual purpose of every stay
He added: “The needs of Hajj and Umrah guests are highly specific. They require clarity, timing, access, language support, and teams who understand the pressure points of the journey. This is where our role becomes more than accommodation. It is about helping guests move through their stay with greater ease, comfort, and confidence”
Rotana Jabal Omar Makkah features 655 rooms and suites across three connected towers, with rooms designed to offer comfort, privacy, and convenience for pilgrims, families, groups, and long stay guests. The hotel also offers executive floors and a private executive lounge for guests seeking additional privacy and personalised service
Additional facilities include dedicated prayer areas for men and women, meeting and event spaces, fitness and wellness facilities, 24-hour room service, and five restaurants and cafés offering international, Asian, and Arabic cuisine
