Official Signing Ceremony Marks the Third Phase of LuLu’s Sustainable Energy Partnership with Kanoo-CleanMax Joint Venture
LuLu Group has officially announced its third major solar energy initiative in Saudi Arabia, marking a significant step in its ongoing journey toward environmental sustainability. This latest phase involves the implementation of rooftop solar power plants across five prominent hypermarket locations, further aligning the group’s operations with the sustainability objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The project is being developed in partnership with the Kanoo-CleanMax joint venture and will see substantial clean energy installations across the region. The flagship installation at LuLu Riyadh Avenue Mall features a 1,089 kWp rooftop plant expected to generate 1.85 million kWh annually. Other key locations include the Dammam Shathi hypermarket with an 810 kWp plant generating 1.41 million kWh, the Rakkah branch with 581 kWp producing 1.01 million kWh, the Rayyan location with 550 kWp generating 962,500 kWh, and the East Dammam store with a 187 kWp plant providing 327,250 kWh of green energy every year.
The formal signing ceremony for this partnership recently took place, bringing together key leadership from both organizations. The agreement for the joint venture was signed by Mr. Mohammed Haris, Director of LuLu Saudi Hypermarkets KSA, alongside Mr. Fahad Fawzi Kanoo, Chairman of Kanoo Industrial and Energy.
The ceremony was attended by senior representatives from LuLu Group, including Mr. Shamnas Pallikandy, Regional Director for the Eastern Province, Mr. Zahid Azher, General Manager of Projects, and Mr. Zayed Battel Al Subayi, Administration Manager for the Eastern Province. Also present from the Kanoo side were Mr. Manoj Kumar Tripathy, CEO of Kanoo Industrial and Energy, Mr. Prasanth Karunakaran, Country Manager for Kanoo Environment & Sustainability Solutions, Mr. Ali Kanoo, Board Member – Kanoo Group and Mr. Zakir Ali, Senior Sales Manager.

This third phase of solar implementation highlights LuLu Group’s proactive approach to adopting renewable energy within the retail sector.
