The “Tawazonha Sah” initiative has been launched with an integrated model for preventive partnerships that links health awareness, early detection of obesity, diabetes, and metabolic diseases, with healthcare pathways. This step aims to strengthen prevention, support early detection, and enable beneficiaries to access appropriate health services in a timely manner, through a system comprising a number of healthcare authorities and strategic partners across the Kingdom.
The initiative will run for one year, targeting the reach of one million people through awareness programs, health screenings, and field and digital activities, contributing to raising public health awareness, encouraging community members to adopt healthy lifestyles, and conducting preventive check-ups before complications arise.
The Hajj season witnessed the first phase of the initiative’s implementation, through a number of awareness and health screening points that provided initial assessment services for beneficiaries, contributed to enhancing awareness of risk factors associated with obesity and diabetes, and referred cases requiring follow-up to the relevant health authorities, reflecting the initiative’s direction toward building an integrated health journey that begins with awareness and early detection and extends to care and follow-up.
The Initiative’s model relies on implementing awareness programs and field screenings in hospitals, primary healthcare centers, and shopping centers, alongside awareness campaigns via digital platforms, including measuring basic health indicators, conducting risk factor assessments, and providing health consultations from specialists, thereby promoting a culture of prevention and encouraging early intervention.
Mostafa Abdelrahman, Regional General Manager of “Lilly” in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, affirmed that the “Tawazonha Sah” initiative embodies an effective model of the partnerships the company believes in and seeks to strengthen the same in the Kingdom, noting that achieving tangible health outcomes in the field of obesity, diabetes, and metabolic diseases requires the integration of efforts across various sectors, starting from awareness, passing through early detection, and reaching sustainable healthcare.
He added that “Lilly”, as a strategic partner in the initiative that targets reaching one million people, affirms its commitment to supporting the healthcare ecosystem in the Kingdom and enhancing community awareness, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 toward a healthier society and a better quality of life.
On his part, Dr. Mutaeb Al-Otaibi, Consultant of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, explained that confronting obesity and diabetes begins before the diagnosis stage, by raising health awareness, reaching those most susceptible to infection, and assessing their risk factors in a timely manner.
He pointed out that many cases of obesity, metabolic disorders, and diabetes pass through stages during which the progression of the disease can be limited if risk factors are identified early, indicating that linking awareness with early screening, and then referral to healthcare, contributes to improving prevention opportunities, enhancing quality of life, and reducing complications associated with chronic diseases.
He added that building partnerships between various health authorities contributes to unifying preventive efforts and provides a more integrated pathway for the beneficiary that begins with awareness, passes through health assessment, and reaches medical follow-up when needed, thereby enhancing the efficiency of health services and establishing the concept of prevention as the most impactful option for improving community health.
The initiative is implemented in partnership with a number of health authorities, including Seha Virtual Hospital, Sulaiman Al-Habib Hospitals, and Nahdi clinics and pharmacies, with strategic support from Lilly, alongside many strategic partners, thereby enhancing the integration of roles across various health sectors and expanding the scope of reaching beneficiaries in different regions of the Kingdom.
