TOYOTA RACING secured victory at the 94th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the third round of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries took first place in the No. 7 Toyota TR010 Hybrid Electric Hypercar, while teammates Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryō Hirakawa completed a memorable result for the team by finishing third in the No. 8 Toyota TR010 Hybrid Electric Hypercar. The victory marks Toyota’s sixth triumph at the legendary French endurance race
Kamui Kobayashi, Team Principal and driver, vehicle No. 7, said: “It was very challenging for us, but we never gave up. Vehicle No. 7 has had a lot of second places at Le Mans but finally we got our second win. We have waited so long for this victory and it feels amazing. The whole week was not easy, including the race which was not smooth. We had a puncture early and that made it tough for us. But Mike, Nyck, our engineers and our pit crew did a great job. It was an incredible day. Thank you to everyone who made it happen, including all the fans who make this such a special event”
A crowd of 350,105 spectators witnessed one of the closest and most unpredictable editions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in recent years. Despite starting from modest grid positions following Hyperpole, the Toyota TR010 Hybrid Electric Hypercars made early gains through an aggressive fuel strategy that brought both crews closer to the front. The No. 7 Toyota TR010 Hybrid Electric Hypercar recovered from an early puncture and steadily moved up the order, while the No. 8 crew overcame several setbacks after leading during the opening stages of the race
A safety vehicle with less than six hours remaining brought the field back together and set up an intense battle in the closing stages. Bold overtakes from the Toyota crews put TOYOTA RACING into a one-two lead with three hours to go. After 381 laps of competition, Conway, Kobayashi and de Vries secured victory in the No. 7 Toyota TR010 Hybrid Electric Hypercar by 10.913 seconds, while Buemi, Hartley and Hirakawa completed the race in third place to deliver a double podium finish for the team
The result extends TOYOTA RACING’s lead in the manufacturers’ World Championship to 36 points, while Conway, Kobayashi and de Vries move to the top of the drivers’ standings.
