Two of Kia’s flagship models in the United States took first place in their respective categories in the 2026 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS) released by JD Power. The 2026 Carnival topped the minivan segment, while the K4 took first place in the compact car segment and ranked second overall in the automotive sector in terms of initial quality.
Kia’s plant in Nuevo León, Mexico, where the K4 is manufactured, received the Gold Plant Quality Award in recognition of achieving the highest levels of initial quality among automotive plants in North and South America. This award is given to plants that produce vehicles with the fewest defects during the initial ownership period (excluding design-related problems).
Quality and Sales
The performance of the Carnival and K4 models reflects high levels of quality, as they recorded the fewest quality issues during the first 90 days of ownership within their respective segments. Both models also feature spacious interiors, advanced features, and attractive designs.
The Carnival set sales records for six consecutive months.
The K4 achieved record sales for five consecutive months.
The outstanding results and immense popularity of the Carnival and K4 models in the U.S. are an extension of their success in the Saudi Arabia, supported by the deep-rooted trust in Kia vehicles built up over many years. This trust has been reinforced by the quality and excellence of Kia vehicles, along with the important role played by AlJabr Trading Company, Kia’s dealer in the Saudi Arabia, in providing a comprehensive customer experience, including after-sales services in which the company continues to invest to meet its customers’ expectations and maintain their satisfaction.
